Environmental Assessment

The purpose of the environmental assessment is to identify and evaluate the significance of any potential environmental and social impacts arising from the proposed construction and development water supply system for the power plant and to recommend avoidance, preventive and mitigate measures to ensure that residual environmental impacts are acceptable and within the applicable limitation standards prescribed by the Department of Environmental and natural Resources (DENR).

The required level of environmental assessment i.e either an Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) or a full blown and comprehensive
Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will depend on the overall development of the water supply project in coordination with the DENR-Regional Office. Upon approval of the DENR-Regional Office of the report, and Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) will be issued and implementation of the proposed project.
